Darin & Brooke Aldridge will be coming to Athens State University as part of the Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Concert Series. The concert will be held on Tuesday, September 28 at 7:00 pm in McCandless Hall after being postponed last year due to COVID-19.
Husband and wife duo Darin & Brooke Aldridge are both highly acclaimed vocalists in their own right. They combine rich harmonies with impeccable musicianship to create the unmistakable sound that has made them one of the hottest young acts in acoustic music. Brooke is the three-time reigning IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year and has been lauded for having one of the most powerful voices in music of any genre. Furthermore, Darin spent six years as a member of the acclaimed County Gentleman, and is a highly sought-after multi-instrumentalist.
They draw on the traditions of their native North Carolina, the savvy of a young, gifted band, and their own dedication to ingenuity to create the most adventurous album of their career with their latest critically acclaimed release, “Inner Journey.” The duo has received multiple nominations from the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) and Inspirational Country Music (ICM) and has placed several tracks at the top of Roots, SiriusXM, Bluegrass, and Gospel charts.
Tickets for the event are $15.00 and can be purchased by visiting www.TVOTFC.org or calling the office of University Advancement at 256-233-8185. As part of the Athens Forever Bicentennial Series, this event is sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention Steering Committee and the Livingston Concert/Lecture Series.
