Athens State is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachel O’Sullivan as Director of Major Gifts and Annual Giving within the Office of University Advancement. O’Sullivan holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame with concentrations in Economics and German and a master’s degree in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
O’Sullivan joins Athens State University after working for the American Red Cross of Alabama for three years, where she was responsible for foundation giving across the state and helped foster relationships that led to over 100% growth. She held a previous position with a children’s museum, where she proudly developed and coordinated an effort to bring snow to the children of Brownsville, Texas. She has also worked in brand management within the pharmaceuticals industry. She belongs to the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and is actively involved with community organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul Society and Mercy Parish.
